6:30PM start Location: We meet at the trailhead on Martin Street NOT at the Pumphouse parking lot.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PUMPHOUSE FILL STATION PARKING LOT, PARK ON MARTIN ST OR ANYWHERE ELSE EXCEPT THE PUMPHOUSE PARKING LOT (EVEN THOSE THAT IGNORE THIS EVERY TIME WE GO THERE π
If we make a fuss crowding that parking lot then leaving for an hour and customers cannot park in the meantime, we run the risk of not being able to come back.
Important: After you park elsewhere, walk over to meet on foot in the rear parking lot of the Pumphouse Fill Station.
Things to remember:
Group runs are NOT training runs. Train however hard you choose on your own time. These runs are for fun and meant to be inclusive to the slowest member in your group.
We will divide in at least 3 pace groups if needed. 10km, 8km and 6km with the aim to finish around 1 hour.
Nobody gets left behind, we wait at all turns and ensure the last member catches up before proceeding. Having said that, runners you have to be aware of which group you choose. If you have not run trails before they take more effort (rocks and roots) than roads so choose wisely. Err on the side of caution week 1 if it's too slow, try bumping up the next week.
We are a running group. You have to be able to run 6 km on trail within the hour. If you have to hike that means all members of the group will have to wait for you. We want beginners and we want everyone to feel welcome but we also want to trail run, we are not a hiking group.
Trails make you work and sweat, please come prepared, bring water if you need it. Bugs are out in full force, spray is a good idea as we stop for breaks.
