As one of Australia’s most beloved sports, the Australian Football League (AFL) culminates every September with its highly anticipated final series, where the top 8 teams compete for the coveted AFL Premiership.
This year, the AFL has been at the forefront of pivotal legal developments shaping the future of the sport. Recent advancements in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and media rights deals have opened new avenues for the AFL to expand its influence both on and off the field. Meanwhile, ongoing discussions about player safety, including the management of concussions and high tackles, continue to drive the evolution of the game. These key legal and ethical issues are central to conversations among fans, players, and stakeholders.
