Guns. Grief. Ghosts. The stories of San Jose's Winchester Mystery House come to life again in this touring one-artist play presented by guest actor Lisa Morse and playwright Joe Christiano. Morse plays Sarah Winchester (1839-1922), who lost everything of value -- her husband, her child -- and gained a fortune. The heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company would design a sprawling mansion, its confounding splendor inviting wonder and rumor.Coming to City Lights on Sunday, March 23, at 7 p.m.! Presented by National Delivery. The play lasts about an hour, and everyone is welcome to stay afterward for a discussion with Lisa and Joe.
"Mrs. Winchester, or, A Gun in the First Act" was first presented at Shotgun Players’ 2023 Summer Salon for a one-night, sold-out preview. Its first full production doubles as its first tour: a 2024-2025 road show limited to California.
