Mrs Frighthouse are a wife and wife industrial noise metal duo from Glasgow. Showing unflinching levels of disinhibition and lyrical directness when writing about traumatic experiences, their unique blend of harsh sonic dissonance and chaos combined with beautiful heart-wrenching vocals and extraordinary ranges have gained them a local following and seen them share lineups with a diverse range of artists including Inter Arma, Meth., Wallowing, Cwfen and Zetra.
The name 'Mrs Frighthouse' came from the fact that they really are 'Mrs and Mrs'. 'Queerbaiting' and the sexualisation of queer women for the male gaze have been rife for decades, while showing genuine romance and commitment between two women unfortunately still remains subversive. The pair want to combat the invisibility and erasure queer women experience, with their music they've termed 'sapphic metal'.
