Tuesday, March 12 - "Dress Like a Girl"
We’re celebrating Women’s History Month! Who runs the world? Girls! What’s the right way to dress like a girl? A slumber party full of girls enact their own playful, empowering twists on several stuffy, old-timey rules of fashion. The girls proceed to play dress-up and make-believe with costumes of astronauts, doctors, conductors, fire fighters, police officers, scuba divers, and more! The best way to dress like a girl is the way that makes you feel most like YOU! Join us as we kick off our spring Mr. Paca’s Garden program!
Saturday, March 16 - "How to Catch a Leprechaun"
You’ve been planning night and day, and FINALLY you’ve created the perfect trap with shamrocks, pots of gold, and rainbows galore! Now all you need to do is wait. Is this the year you’ll finally catch the leprechaun? Our pots of gold are missing and we’re feeling extremely downtrodden – so can you help us find this trickster in our sprawling English garden? Remember to wear your green!
Tuesday, April 16 - "Plant It! Eat It! Grow It!"
We’re celebrating the Year of the Garden! It’s spring and the community garden is filled with friends and neighbors ready to plant, water, W**d and harvest. Follow along as we read about four kids who grow gardens across balconies, backyards, greenhouses and even rooftops. See how the kids plant seeds, harvest yummy foods, and share a big meal! We will visit Farmer Ben and plant seeds in our historic eighteenth-century garden.
Saturday, April 20 - "One Little Lot - the 1-2-3s of an Urban Garden"
In a bustling, urban neighborhood, count the ways one little lot becomes a beautiful community vegetable garden. A community unites to clean up an abandoned lot. From building planter boxes to pulling weeds to planting seeds, everyone works together to transform the lot into a bountiful vegetable garden. As the garden grows, strangers become friends, eventually sharing in a special feast with the harvest they grew. We’re celebrating Earth Day by continuing with our Year of the Garden theme! Accompany us on our stunning historic garden terrace for a special Earth Day craft!
Tuesday, May 7 - "The Best Mother"
When Maxine wakes up on the wrong side of the bed one morning, she wonders if the problem might be her mother. What if she could try out a new mom who doesn’t make her brush her teeth or comb her hair? Enlisting Mom to help her with the search, Maxine interviews various prospects to be her new mother at the park, the toy store, and the zoo. Does Maxine find a new mom? Come find out! Join in as we create a charming Mother’s Day craft and a special craft for Military Spouses Day! We’ll also visit Farmer Ben in our breathtaking 2-acre English garden!
