After 53 joyful years in education Richard Man has consciously resolved not to retire but to transmogrify himself into a performance poet; as "MR MAN".Join us at the Old Library on the 25th of January as Mr Man prepares himself, you and the world for his writings and launches his new career. All while raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Through his performance, Mr Man explores love, maths, science and nature, health, friends and other people. Plus the random thoughts and ideas that have sprung into his mind over the years.
Richard will be joined by:
HARRY MAN - an accomplished and published poet and lecturer of poetry and… a cousin!
ENDRE RUSET - a Norwegian poet, translator and broadcaster. Harry Man has translated his book of ‘untranslatable' haiku-‘esque’, Noriaki, about the oldest still-competing FIS ski jumper in the world, Noriaki Kasai.
The pair will read accompanied by projections and a score by composer Jovana Backovic.
This is also a precursor to “BE AWARE:... THE ODES of MARCH”. This poetry and music event will take place on the 15th of March at St Merryn Church. There, Mr Man will be joined by The Portraits, Paul Temme, Miriam Man, and Fern Britton as compère.
