About this Event
Both Pergola and Mr. Husband have long been among our favorite acts to host. In the case of Mr. Husband: songwriting that is effortlessly both smart and fun; grown-up musicianship with basement-show energy from a lock-tight full band.
In the case of Pergola: simply one of the most compelling, personal instrumental musicians you're likely to see in your life. Experimental fingerstyle guitar compositions, often accompanied by shruti box. The range of synthesized influences would be bewildering if the synthesis weren't so complete.
And were that not enough, each of them are deep old friends of Frostburg and of me. Though they now reside in other cities, their footprints here have not washed off. The echoes of their adventures here continue to inform our local spirits.
They were artists here in their youth and they never grew out of it. I am overjoyed that each has a new record out at around the same time, and that we can host the celebration.
In that spirit, the entrance is set at a very nominal $5. I hope you buy their records.
