One of the towering masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire, and one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's finest late works, the Divertimento in E Flat K. 563 for violin, viola and 'cello was written in 1788 and premiered - with the composer himself playing the viola part - in 1789, just two years before his untimely death. The 50-minute work displays the full range of Mozart's incredible genius within a six movement format that features practically every musical character and dynamic from the passionate to the profound - to the delightfully humorous.
