We will mow some grass and clean up some trash. This will be our last mow of 2024. LOCATION: We will be mowing and cleaning up around the Dorais Velodrome. It's a wild, abandoned bicycle racing track that has been lost to time. We do our best there. Enter this address into your phone and then wander up the path to the velodrome. After mowing we will have burgers and beers at House of Shamrocks in Hazel Park (9 and John R.). We like this place because there is plenty of room to park our trucks and trailers.
If you have never been to Mower Gang, here is how it works.
1. We mow grass and clean up abandoned parks and playgrounds.
2. It is fun.
3. The people are really nice.
4. You don't really need anything to participate. Lots of people have spare equipment they will be happy to lend you.
5. It is very, very casual. We usually just show up and start working. There isn't really a lot of direction, nor management. Just come out, find some way you can make a difference and have a good time.
6. There will be food and beverages for volunteers (we run a fundraiser every year to cover this expense).
7. We are just dumb enough to mow rain or shine.
