Moving Voices is Southampton’s longest-running open mic, held in the unique setting of a converted train station waiting room. It’s a brave space and a safer space - welcoming, intimate, and fiercely inclusive. Whether you're taking the mic for the first time or experimenting with something new, you'll find a small but mighty audience ready to cheer you on.
We centre LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent and marginalised voices, celebrate diversity, and create room for stories that don’t always get heard, even the messy and raw ones. Come as you are, share what you’ve got - poems, songs, stories, or something in between.
Sign up from 7pm.
About our host:

Jez Franck is a threadwalker, a truth-teller, a gatherer of bone and rust and river-light. Their poems don’t ask politely - they arrive, wild-eyed and muddy-booted, speaking in tongues older than towns. From queer rage to quiet joy, Jez maps the cracks in the system where something beautiful still grows. Expect stories. Expect spells. Expect to feel something shift.
About our special guest:

Our guest this month is Jordan Russell - you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll finally know what it's like to have a manic episode (if you don't already, of course).
Booking is highly advised as the venue is small and the event is popular.
