WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Primitive reflexes are the automatic, instinctive movements that babies make from the very earliest weeks of life. They are essential to our development – helping us to breathe, feed and begin to move in the world. As a child grows, these reflexes are gradually ‘integrated’, absorbed into the developing nervous system and replaced by more mature patterns of movement and response.
Supporting this integration through gentle, rhythmic movement is something that can nourish every child, and indeed every adult. It is both a developmental and a therapeutic approach, rooted in the understanding that the body holds deep wisdom, and that movement is at the heart of how we learn, feel, and grow.
For some children, retained primitive reflexes may be quietly showing up as difficulties with concentration, coordination, reading/writing, emotional regulation, or sensitivity to touch and sound. For all children, integrating these early movement patterns can open up a new freedom in how they move, feel and engage with the world. This work has something to offer every child at every stage – from toddlers to teenagers.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Caroline will guide us through both the theory and the practice – this won’t just be a sit-and-listen talk. You can expect to:
- Gain a clear, accessible understanding of what primitive reflexes are and why they matter
- Learn about Rhythmic Movement Training (RMTi) and Brain Gym® – what they are and the research behind them
- Take part in some of the movements and exercises yourself
- Come away with practical ideas to support your child at home or work
