Obviously, the Internet has plenty of idiots who don't know what they're talking about (but will spout advice as if they do). However, it also features incredibly generous experts whose free online advice is worth its weight in gold. I'll help you tell the difference.

Lifestyle considerations

If you're uprooting your life, make sure you land someplace good. Have you given real thought to lifestyle, transportation, travel, work, school, even politics? We'll discuss how to find the right spot for you.

Costs

Spoiler alert: it will all cost more than you think! We'll discuss both the obvious (visas, shipping) and less-obvious (localized fees, temporary stop-gap measures as you get settled) costs that can accrue, so you can be aware of them, plan for them, and hopefully even avoid some of them!
