42 is a movie about Jackie Robinson, the first African American to join the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers. The movie portrays the struggles Robinson had to go through while he was on the baseball team, mainly racism, and how he managed to overcome them. The movie also shows how Robinson's courage inspired Americans, both white and black, and helped to ignite the emerging civil rights movement.
