One does not simply walk into Mordor, but you can certainly join us at Marble Springs in our screening of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Friday September 12th, presented by 865 Axe! Admission is FREE and will include fun activities before the film including free axe throwing from our friends from 865 Axe; now is your chance to channel your inner Gimli!
Be sure not to miss the presentation, "Hey Dol! Merry Dol! Who is Tom Bobadil" by Program Director and Professor Courtney Beard right before the movie! Learn a dance around a May Pole to whimsical music with Oak Ridge Folk Dancer, and afterwards enjoy a sweet treat from our food truck friend "The Sugar Coma". Maybe you'll find the one donut ring to rule them all?
Gates open at 6pm and movie begins at sundown ~8pm.
Visitors are encouraged to dress up! We'd love to see your best hobbit, wizard, or fantasy creature!

This event is part of the Historic House Museums of Knoxville's Movies at the Museums; a collaborative event showing 3 different movies, at 3 different museum on the first 3 Fridays of September!
From pirate adventures, to epic fantasy worlds, to fast-paced action, each historic house museum will show a different film for audiences to enjoy while also taking in the unique landscapes of the historic site.
Admission is FREE for each movie, but donations are greatly appreciated to support each museum’s preservation mission. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, or other
items to make themselves comfortable. Concessions will be available at each museum.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Capt. Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) arrives at Port Royal in the Caribbean without a ship or crew. His timing is inopportune, however, because later that evening the town is besieged by a pirate ship. The pirates kidnap the governor's daughter, Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), who's in possession of a valuable coin that is linked to a curse that has transformed the pirates into the undead. A gallant blacksmith (Orlando Bloom) in love with Elizabeth allies with Sparrow in pursuit of the pirates.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
The future of civilization rests in the fate of the One Ring, which has been lost for centuries. Powerful forces are unrelenting in their search for it. But fate has placed it in the hands of a young Hobbit named Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), who inherits the Ring and steps into legend. A daunting task lies ahead for Frodo when he becomes the Ringbearer - to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged.

The Bandit, a charismatic bootlegger, takes a bet to ship a truck full of beer from Texas to Arkansas. While pulling off the stunt, he falls in love with a woman engaged to the son of a dyspeptic sheriff who takes it upon himself to stop Bandit.
