Movies and television in the 90s thoroughly strange aesthetic. This came together in 1995 with a movie adaptation that to this day I still don’t understand why it was so popular and why I loved it so much. MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: THE MOVIE is absolutely unhinged in a way that a late 70s Godzilla sequel could only have dreamed of.All of the Power Rangers regulars are here: Zordon, Alpha 5, Goldar, Rita Repula, and of course Kimberly (?)… but the greatest addition for this big screen adaptation is Ivan Ooze! How this cartoonish villain didn’t become a gay icon is beyond me.
So, yeah, there is also a perplexing amount of mysticism and skydiving. You're gonna love it.
