Come one, come all to another exciting Florida movie night!Gulfport Arts & Heritage is pleased to present Nicholas Ray's 1958 film, Wind Across the Everglades. Loosely based on the life – and the shocking death – of Monroe County game warden and deputy sheriff Guy Bradley, the film takes us back to the days when South Florida plume hunters stalked the Everglades for bird feathers worth their weight in gold in the fashion market of New York City. When a plucky game warden meets a fierce gang of poachers, feathers inevitably fly. Featuring memorable performances by Burl Ives and Christopher Plummer, Wind Across the Everglades is a Florida classic. Come enjoy it with us!
The screening begins at 7pm, immediately following our Annual Members Meeting, which begins at 6:15pm. It is free and open to the public, though we encourage you to register so we can provide enough snacks for all.
