Join us for a screening of Bad River on Monday, July 15th at 7pm in the back room of the Sugar Maple.Doors will open at 6:45pm with a first come, first seated entrance.
Movie will begin at 7pm, with a 15 minute interission midway. The movie is 1 hour and 38 minutes. Any donations will be given to the Bad River Band.
Bad River, narrated by activist and model Quannah ChasingHorse and Academy-Award nominee, Edward Norton; written and directed by award-winning filmaker, Mary Mazzio, and produced by Grant Hill Owner of the Atlanta Hawks) and Alison Abner (writer for Narcos, West Wing), is a new documentary film which chronicles the Wisconsin-based Bad River Band and its ongoing fight for sovereignty, through a sries of revelations, losses, and a powerful legacy of defiance and resilience.
The project brings us through an epic sweep of history into the present in a battle to save Lake Superior, the largest freshwater resource in America.
