About the Presenters:
Dance/Movement Therapy Intern: Juanita Ramey, MPA
Dance/Movement Therapy helps individuals, couples, and families work through cognitive, emotional, and behavioral distress through somatic awareness, artistic expression, and introspective activities. Ms. Ramey is pursuing her Master’s in Dance/Movement Therapy in the Expressive Arts Therapy department at Lesley University:
“Through investing in an educational matriculation via the Lesley University Graduate Expressive Dance Therapy Program, it is my desire to become equipped with therapeutic best practices; especially with mentorship from my teachers and supportive staff. My goal is to understand how to properly meet the mental, emotional, and physical needs of those seeking support; leading to sustainable interventions. I believe doing so through the proper cultural lenses of the individual can guide them toward inner resolution, nurture interpersonal relationships, and aid in their ability to navigate society using healthier methods.”
