About Movements
RUCKUS! out now • A rock band from Orange County, CA.
About Tigers Jaw
A real cool band. Characterized by unconventionally catchy songs, weaving harmonies, and timelessly relatable lyricism, Tigers Jaw have been organically increasing a fanbase over a decade-plus of touring and releasing music. The latest effort, I Won't Care How You Remember Me, showcases a band who is confident and adventurous, forging trust in friendship alongside musicianship over years of steady touring. Tigers Jaw crafted a timeless and dynamic album that is both a confident step forward and an essential release in an already celebrated catalogue of music. Aptly described as the middle ground between Fleetwood Mac and Saves the Day, Tigers Jaw have managed to progress and evolve while preserving the spirit of their modest origins in the scrappy DIY Scranton punk scene. Tigers Jaw Forever.
About Webbed Wing
Following a decorated career with Philly rock group Superheaven, singer and guitarist Taylor Madison meanders into newly-refined songwriter territory with the inception of Webbed Wing in 2018. Joined by Jake Clarke (drums) and Mike Paulshock (bass), the band fully realizes their innate genre-blending musicality. Webbed Wing’s somewhat simplistic approach to songwriting explores what it means to birth a sad song without fully killing a mood, paired with a soundscape laden with nostalgia and a tasteful pop-rock resurgence. Taking notes from the likes of The Lemonheads and Teenage Fanclub, Webbed Wing encapsulates everything lyrically gripping about indie and everything vibrant about modern pop. While also expertly intertwining the heaviness of metal and the earnesty of country, the band blends all these different aspects of their craft into something highly palatable and new. Between early Webbed Wing releases, like 2019’s Bike Ride Across the Moon (Disposition Collective) and forthcoming recordings on 2021’s What’s So Fucking Funny? with Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip (Code Orange, The Menzingers, Mannequin Pussy, Circa Survive) via Memory Music Label (Bartees Strange, Anthony Green), there’s an obvious level up in production, honing in on Webbed Wing’s natural maturity as both an artist and a creative.
About Pærish
If you’ve ever watched David Lynch’s classic 2001 film Mulholland Dr., you might just recognize the title of Pærish’s third full-length, You’re In Both Dreams (And You’re Scared).
You can hear that in these songs—and to that extent, this album disproves the very anxieties and insecurities that inspired it. Pærish vocalist/guitarist Mathias Court thinks this new album is “heavier, noisier and way more sad than the previous one,” the result of writing much more spontaneous songs. He’s not wrong. It opens with the solemn, heavy beauty of “Sequoia”, a track that’s simultaneously comforting and frenzied, beautiful and harrowing. It’s on the next track, “Daydreaming”, that the crunching, heavy riffs Pærish have made their own first appear in full force on this record, but afterwards they’re found throughout. “Amanita” is an overwhelming surge of tortured emotion that pulsates menacingly, the melancholy “It Only Bothers You” feels like it carries the entire burden of humanity on its shoulders, while “Houses of American Style”, “Brian Wilfuzz” and “Worry” all sound like timeless classics from American alternative music’s heyday – albeit imbued with Pærish’s own distinct sparkle. It’s not all crushing riffs, however – in addition to “Sequoia”, “The Luck You Had” and final song “My Every Step” are moments of tender grace and beauty. It all combines to make this the album Pærish have been striving to make.
