With 26 bones, 33 joints, 112 ligaments, and 34 muscles (some fully contained in the foot and others originating above the foot), the foot is one of the more complicated anatomical structures of your body. It’s made to be very sensitive and responsive. Yet the foot is given very little thought in our movement practices and, for many, is stuffed into highly structured, inflexible shoes. The result that we see in studio are people who can’t spread their toes or tuck their toes under, feet that pronate or ankles that wobble during balance poses. In this workshop, we’ll explore our feet and ankles using a combination of yoga, functional movement, strength training and fascial rolling techniques. This class will be accessible to beginners and is open to those who suffer chronic foot/ankle strains. It is not recommended for those with a current acute injury.Cost: $20
