Join us as we journey into our mind, heart, body, and soul through movement, somatic exercises, embodiment, healing, and dance.
About this Event

Dance is an ancient healing modality that occupies a place of movement, energy, worship, desire, prayer, feeling, trance, and more. Our ancestors danced to engage in ritual, healing, connection, and celebration. Dance is written in our DNA—it is an integral part of what it means to be human. When we dance, we remember. We remember how it feels to be alive, to move, to create, to play, to shapeshift, to connect, to experience life, to release old stories and patterns, and to find our core truth and purpose. Dance helps us connect with ourselves, connect with space and environment, connect with others, and connect with the divine. Join us for an all day movement and dance journey into the physical, emotional, somatic, energetic, and spiritual body. Come to play, learn, release, connect, heal, manifest, embody, understand, and gain tools to help you on your healing path.

.

Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) is a dance and healing practice that integrates Authentic Movement (AM), Contact Improvisation (CI) and Passing Through (PT) with profound practices of qigong, yoga, healing modalities and energy work, mindfulness and leadership skills, somatics and principles of behaviorism, as well as the philosophies of Buddhism, and Taoism.

Dance and movement helps us integrate our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls. It is a mirror to how we relate to our world and each other and teaches us how to overcome old patterns, engage differently in our relationships, express who we are, and live from our core truth. Our intention for this all day event is to slowly bring participants from a place of safety in their bodies to a place of deep hearted connection, expression, and freedom with self, the environment, others, and the divine.

Bio:

Matthew Stackowicz is a contact beyond contact level 3 dance facilitator, embodiment coach, ceremonialist, sacred circle facilitator, breathwork guide, shamanic reiki master, international photographer, retreat facilitator, and father of two amazing children. His home base is in South Bend, IN but he travels the world to lead sacred circles, retreats, dance and embodiment workshops and photographs humans in connection to their own hearts and each other. He currently hosts sacred circles, embodiment practices, dance containers, and other workshops in South Bend, IN, Chicago, IL, and other nearby locations. After decades of disconnection to self, body, emotions, purpose, and other humans, he hit rock bottom and started the slow but necessary process of personal transformation and growth. He now lives to serve others on their own personal transformation story.

.

LION:

Lion is a dancer, writer and change-maker. Devoted to ‘love’ in all it’s manifestations. Trained in ancient tantra, polarity work, Human Design, cacao, dance, body, breath and energy work.

Her life’s work is to initiate and to be initiated into living life to the fullest. Right here, right now, within our bodies. Over the last years, she has impacted many clients in re-connecting to their body’s wisdom -by balancing the material and the spiritual, the feminine and the masculine, the light and the dark- to come ‘home’ within our hearts. The only place from where we can authentically bring our energy out into the world.

In Contact beyond contact she found an embodied practice beyond words, to integrate it all. A practice that’s deeply transformative and above of all sparks her ‘joy’.
