This month experience the joy of movement and dance as a path to greater vitality, health and wellbeing. Join us and community dance artist David X. Thurmond for a special hour-long dance and movement experience.
Mr. Thurmond has presented movement workshops in a variety of community settings, from school parking lots to church basements, and from ballet studios to basketball gyms. He specializes in integrating dance with other art forms, like visual art! His Revive-Rejuvenate-Restore Dance for All program is based on the interrelationship of the body, brain, mind, and spirit and offers a complementary path to health and vitality for individuals of any age and movement ability. This innovative session explores the relationship in movement between visual art and dance and is designed to improve each individual’s coordination, flexibility, body image, and energy levels. Mr. Thurmond’s workshops invite participants to reconnect with their bodies through expressive movement, and to bring dance, music, art and creativity, more fully into their lives. Physically, the program will promote strength, balance, agility, and coordination. Emotionally, it will inspire a renewed sense of confidence, vitality, and energy within each individual as bonds of friendship and camaraderie are strengthened among all participants.
