MOVEMENT AT THE MUSEUMJoin us at the museum for free movement classes, all day on Saturday, July 20! Stay for all or pick and choose. While you are here, try some action art and add to the Splatter Paint and Art Walk community canvases between 1-4 pm. Most activities take place in the garden.

TAI CHI
Discover the graceful art of Tai Chi amidst the inspiring surroundings of the Saginaw Art Museum. Beginner Tai Chi sessions blend the tranquility of this martial art with the creative energy of the museum space. Join us for a harmonious journey of gentle movements and inner calm, where the beauty of art converges with the fluidity of Tai Chi. Embrace balance and mindfulness as you explore this unique fusion of culture and well-being. All are welcome.
Joe Turner is a Tai Chi practitioner with 26 years experience.
JIU-JITSU JUMPSTART!
This workshop is purposeful to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals of all ages who are new to the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This introductory session will cover basic jiu jitsu concepts, simple movements, and basic positions in a friendly and supportive environment. No experience is required - just come ready to learn and have fun! Recommended for adult beginners and children 5 and up.
Kyle Hanshaw is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt under Carl Rabideau of Palm BJJ in Freeland, MI.

INTRO TO TAP DANCING
Learn the basics of tap dancing! Shuffle, flaps, buffalos, cramp rolls, and more! By the end, you'll have learned a choreographed dance that is packed with basic tap moves. Tap shoes are not necessary, but we recommend either wearing smooth, hard soled shoes and/or duct taping coins to the balls and heels of your shoes. Modifications to make moves low impact will be available. Children and adults are welcome to join.
Katie Mielens is the Education Manager at Saginaw Art Museum and has nine years of experience in tap.
FIT AND FUN
This workshop will start with static to dynamic stretching. Participants will learn about mind and muscle connection proper form and technique. Last, we start our cardio, plyometric and low impact that can be achieved at home. This group training class is fun but effective. We aim to improve muscular strength and endurance using body weight. All levels welcome!
Saginaw native Trel Frazier is a certified Wellness Coach and Strength and Conditioning Trainer who specializes in group and personal training. He aims to help individuals reach their fitness goals through fun and effective exercises.
Registration is not required but is appreciated.
