An afternoon singing workshop with the amazing Heartwood trio from the US, learning songs together to sing with them in... a very special evening of glorious a cappella harmony singing, featuring two amazing a cappella ensembles Heartwood (US) and members of Mouthful (UK), with Sing Owt! and Wild Chorus community choirs.

Heartwood is a trio of singers and instrumentalists creating new music born from time in wild places. With rich vocal harmonies and inviting lyrics, these singers and instrumentalists create music in collaboration with the natural world and weave songs that welcome people to join in the singing. Heidi Wilson, Sarina Partridge, and Willy Clemetson first came together as a trio in 2021 during a songwriting intensive on a small island in Lake Superior. Since then, they have toured in the USA performing and teaching workshops; written an original musical together, ‘The Well Tree,’ and recorded an album of songs from wild places. This will be their first tour of the UK as a band, and they are excited to connect with singing communities across the pond!
For the afternoon workshop, immerse yourself in an experience of embodied, joyful, and connected singing with the skilled songleaders and facilitators of Heartwood. Sarina, Willy and Heidi will bring original, harmony-rich, accessible songs that grow out of time spent in wild places, speaking to the wild without and within. All songs will be taught in the oral tradition, no need to read sheet music to participate. All voices are welcome and needed!
Mouthful make innovative, exciting and original music using only the human voice as an expertly-played and finely-tuned instrument. In this trio version of the quartet, Dave Camlin, Katherine Zeserson and Sharon Durant create and perform a diverse range of vocal material inspired by gospel, funk, jazz and global folk traditions.
Sing Owt! and Wild Chorus are Dave Camlin's community choirs in west Cumbria, led in the 'natural voice' tradition which recognises singing as a birthright, making a big, joyful sound while having lots of fun!
