candle light vigils are often held in remembrance of someone who has died. The gathering of Family/ Friends helps unite everyone affected by the death. A Vigil can be seen as a healing event and allows for unity in mourning. On January 20th Trump was sworn into office and signed over 20 Executive orders, including 6 orders for immigration, 14 government change orders, 1 economy, 4, to do with crime, 3 to do with energy and environment. In over a week he has destroyed so much history.
These orders will collapse everything our people have fought centuries for.
We are mourning for The trans and LGBTQ+ community . We are mourning for the America we grew up in. We are mourning for our earth. We are mourning birthright citizen ship. We are mourning for all the families being torn apart by ICE, and deportation Laws. Most importantly we are mourning for the future of America. For the history of America that has become undone. We are mourning because we knew project 2025 was going to happen and no one believed us. But that doesn’t matter now, we need one another more than ever. We need each and every person who has been wronged by the trump administration to help fight.
But we will stand in love and unity with one another on Feb 17th. We will stand with one another and not be moved or wavered. Please stand with me outside the courthouse, come with your explosive Rage, fear, sadness and any other emotion you may have. Gather with a community who is feeling just as scared as you are.
There is power in numbers, there is love in numbers, there is unity in numbers.
