Limited Spots!Two days of intensive training with the top horse archer in the United States
Bring your horse or rent one of our trained horses.
Drinks and lunch will be provided both days. Each day is 9am-5pm.
Saturday ~ Intro for archer and horse, good for those already into MÁ as well as those just starting out or starting out their horse. Saturday will begin with ground archery. We'll discuss safety and 3 different shooting styles for mounted archery (thumb, Mediterranean and Persian). We will go over the pros and cons of each and the most efficient loading styles. We will learn to carry arrows in the bow hand and shoot while in motion. Horses will be brought in after lunch to introduce them to the equipment. Participants will be able to mount up as they are ready, then work their way up to shooting from their horse.
Sunday, we will work on more advanced skills, learn new shooting styles, and/or improve what individuals are doing, starting on the ground, then while mounted. We will discuss riding positions and the mechanics of the ideal mounted archery riding form and how our saddles help or hinder us. Clinics usually focus on where the participants need the most work, so actual actives vary.
The cost is $400 for both days. $250 if you only sign up for one day. Current ULHA membership required ($25 or $10). Horse rental is $50 a day. First come first serve on requested horses. Limited spaces so do not wait to sign up. Half the clinic fee ($200/$125) is due as well as required paperwork to hold your spot. The balance and any horse rental is due the day of the clinic.
