Join us for a live performance by John Ford, as he plays the country blues and shares the history behind the music.Roots musician John Ford blends pre-war blues, old-school country, southern gospel, and the history behind the music. Drawing from the early blues legacies of Robert Johnson and Son House, as well as a bit of country and gospel rhythm, Ford brings to life the history of country blues.
John Ford has been writing since his early teenage years growing up in New Richmond, Ohio. He has released multiple albums, including Rollin' On (2025), John Ford Live at Morehead State University (2019), and The John Ford Blues Society (2016). His 2024 EP Songs From Room 414 was recorded at the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, where Robert Johnson recorded 16 out of his 27 songs in November of 1936. Over the past few years, Ford has performed at venues across the Midwest and South and opened for Cedric Burnside, Patrick Sweaney, Damon Fowler, and Ruthie Foster.
