Mount Scary, the Town's annual weeklong spooktacular Halloween celebration, will be hosting three terrifyingly terrific events on Saturday, Oct. 25!Get ready for chills to run down your spine as Spooky Trail is set to descend upon Rails to Trails East from 5 to 8 p.m. Enter the trail at Watkins Park (615 Center St.) and walk the .3 mile path while meeting some ghoulish characters along the way. The trail experience is designed for all ages. Please bring a flashlight if you plan on walking the path in the dark. The path leads you to the Railyard (3 N. Main St.).
Next, we want to see your Glindas, K-Pop Demon Hunters, Captain Americas, and more! The second event will be Town's annual Halloween Costume Contest beginning at 6 p.m. in the Railyard (3 N. Main St.). The event is for all ages and ribbons will be awarded in multiple categories to the winners!
After the costume contest has finished, get ready for some candy! The Town, in partnership with Twisted Rodz of Maryland, will be hosting a frighteningly fantastic Trunk or Treat event right in the Railyard! Bring a bag or bucket to collect the candy. You can also cast your vote for the best trunk with the winner receiving a trophy. If you would like to host a trunk, email Parks Manager Nancy Hernandez at [email protected].
For the events, there will be no parking in the Railyard. Participants may park at Watkins Park (615 Center St.), the Municipal Lot (1 Veterans Way), the Caboose parking lot (2 N. Main St.), along Main Street and the parking lot across from Liquidity Aleworks.
All events are free and open to the public.
