In association with Two Wheels and HondaThese sessions are designed for women who do not have a motorcycle licence and who want to get onto two wheels – but would like to try a bike first. You don't need any previous experience, though the ability to ride a push bike is always helpful.
Please wear suitable clothing for the day – including jeans and sturdy shoes or boots. You will be provided with a safety helmet, a jacket, and gloves, but you can bring your own equipment and motorcycle clothing if you have some.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE SESSION?
You'll be riding a geared motorcycle from Honda’s 125cc range. The models available will allow a comfortable ride no matter how tall or short you are.
There will be a chance to ask any questions you have, then Fraser or Jack will introduce you to your motorcycle. (Please note that all the instructors are men – there’s a great shortage of women instructors!) He will explain how a motorcycle handles and balances and then take you through all the controls. You will have plenty of time to ask questions at this stage. It will then be time to get on your motorcycle on the safe riding area.
You will not be expected to do anything that you are not comfortable with - you’ll be guided through the process of moving off and stopping, using the brakes, gears, and clutch. Your session is designed to get you riding up and down the area at your own pace.
AFTER THE SESSION
After the session, you may want to consider a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course or even a full licence course. If you’re interested, Staff will be on hand to give you all the details and to discuss what Honda models may suit you, what you want from a motorcycle and let you know about any deals that are available.
If, after your ride you would like to try a ‘twist and go’ automatic, Honda can often arrange a separate session with its training partners.
HONDA OFFERS
As a participant you will be entitled to a £50 voucher which you can use against the cost of a new 125cc motorcycle from your Honda dealer. In addition, if you choose to take a full licence course you will get £500 off if you buy a new Honda motorcycle over 125cc from your Honda dealer. All you have to do is train and pass your test at one of Honda’s approved training partners.
There are 2 sessions available 9.15 and 9.45. There will be a maximum of 3 participants at each.
