We want to help you prepare for your first or next overnight trip. Our ambassador Pete will be hosting a seminar all about packing for motocamping. Pete is bringing in all of his kit and will cover everything you need to stay comfy for a night of camping from your bike. He will go over tips and tricks that he’s learned from his many adventures that will make your camping experience easier and more comfortable. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions about our VIP Camping trips. **About Pete**
My name is Peter Stace-Smith - a bit of a mouthful, so it can and should be shortened to Pete SS or just Pete :) I have been riding moto’s for…. forever? More than 40 years anyway… and have been on BMW bikes now for about 11 years. My first GS was a 2010 F800GS which I put about 65,000 kms on - including many big back country adventures both up here in BC and down in the Western States. I’m currently riding a 2019 F850GS and have put 26,000 kms on this GS over a couple of summer riding seasons, again much of these Kms both on and off road.
My GS’s have carried me down the full Continental Divide route (49th parallel to the Mexican border), mostly on gravel FSR type roads, fully self supported, so camping the entire route, cooking our own food etc. I’ve also completed the Washington and Oregon BDR - or Backcountry Discovery Routes, the Vancouver Island 1000, and a BCBDR route from here to Prince Rupert mostly off road, along with a bunch of other smaller multi-day ride/camping trips up here in Beautiful British Columbia.
This is where I’m happiest. Rolling along a smaller paved or gravel back roads enjoying some pretty scenery and little or no traffic.
