Once Upon a Time, there was a magical kingdom called The Mothlight and in that kingdom were singers! Not just any old singers but amateur yet magical singers who would come together once a month, climb up on rickety old school chorus risers, and join voices with such enthusiasm that it had the power to change the world! Well, maybe “change the world” is a bit strong but it did have the power to change the moods of the singers themselves and make them all feel really good for a bit and that in itself is still something special, right?! Well eventually, the singers got old, the Mothlight closed and chorus grew quiet. Life went on, still good if not less musical.
But then along comes hard times and the need for an old song, an old singing, starts to stir again in the heart. Have you felt it stirring inside you?!
On Friday, December 6th, the Mothlight Singers, friends old and new, will gather again and sing some songs to save the world, or at least for the night save ourselves!!! It will work the way it always did-show up, grab a beverage, grab a lyric sheet, climb up on the risers, and join together in song with one of the sloppiest and sweetest vocal supergroups in town!
With the Mothlight no more, we are insanely grateful to be hosted by the beautiful people in the beautiful space of The Mule! And as always, the event is free however we will be asking that if able, attendees consider contributing a donation of $5 (or more) to our collection plate as we will be raising money for The Asheville Fringe Artists Relief Fund to help them provide some love and support for local artists who’ve been impacted by the storm.
It’s been a long time. It’s been some hard weeks. We’ve held a lot in. Come join us on 6th and let’s let it all out together, making a joyful noise in the process!!!
