Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea

Hats on and pinkies out! Celebrate mother with a classic afternoon tea of sweet and savory dishes sure to whisk you away to the rolling hills of England. Food writer and chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley shares recipes from around Great Britain, from five-star hotels to country mansions. You will make Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite Coronation Chicken Salad tea sandwiches and use prepared puff pastry for petite cheese quiches and savory sausage pinwheels. And no tea is complete without a scone. Shawnie shares a technique for making fluffy, crumbly scones in 30 minutes. You’ll have the chance to customize yours with a selection of add-ins, then serve the finished scones with clotted cream and jam. All these recipes make perfect small bites for any occasion. At the end of class, sit down to lunch with a cup of tea and a glass of bubbly. Cheers!
