Join our Mothers* Rebellion for climate justice on Saturday 16th November, 10-11am, in Guildhall Square Southampton. This will be followed by a COP29 march, starting at 11am and if you are able to we can join the march as a parents bloc. Mothers* Rebellion is a global peaceful family friendly protest where a circle of mothers* (and allies) sit down together in a public place, facing the passers-by, with signs sharing the reason we are here.
The 20th November is World Children’s Day and that weekend is the middle of the UN COP29 conference, so this Mothers* Rebellion will be highlighting how the climate crisis is affecting our children and demanding that UK and world leaders do all they can to safeguard our children’s futures.
Our message is that we refuse to look away, that we refuse to give up and that we will do everything we can for the lives and future of our children.
Children, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and pets are all welcome – anyone who cares about women and children affected by the climate crisis.
What to bring:
A sign to hold about why you are participating (this could be as simple as the names and ages of the children you care about)
All weather gear (raincoat, sun lotion, layers, hat)
Something to sit on
Snacks and water, for you and your little people
