Meet your instructors:
Melissa
As a lover of music and movement, and a trained dancer, Melissa has committed her life to what she now calls “Mindful Movement”.
Melissa is a dedicated yoga practitioner and certified 500 hr. Registered Yoga Teacher that has trained internationally.
Her yoga teachings combine mantra, mudra, pranayama, and devotional practices to inspire deep inner connection and the compassionate embrace of self as a means to liberation and transformation.
She has over 11 years of experience teaching barre, voted one of Austin’s best instructors by StudioHop, with Barre3 Austin- Downtown, in 2019 and most recently added Pilates (mat and reformer) to her movement training methods. She is known for her engaging, challenging, yet calming style.
Currently you can find her at Equinox on Friday mornings or through private sessions. Melissa uses embodied wisdom to meet each client as they are and work with what is present for them in order to feel grounded, challenged and empowered.
Juliana
Juliana has been teaching in the wellness space for 7 years, specializing in Pilates, barre and pre/post-natal exercise.
She has extensive dance training and professional dance experience, a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and numerous certifications.
She’s certified comprehensively in Pilates with Basi Pilates and is a prenatal/postnatal exercise specialist with AFPA (American Fitness Professionals & Associates). She’s also certified in Group Fitness with AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America) and Zumba. She has experience teaching HIIT and strength and conditioning formats and is an instructor at Equinox where she teaches barre and Pilates mat, and holds a leadership position as the barre program lead. She teaches Pilates reformer privates in her home and Pilates mat for corporate wellness programs. She also teaches Pilates events at Soho House, The Austin Proper Hotel and Hyatt Resorts.
She created an exercise program, The Bela Method, dedicated to and specializing in women’s health and prenatal/postnatal exercise. It’s available on The Bela Method app and website.
