About this Event
OVERVIEW
Motherland: Intercultural Expressive Arts Retreat is a Russian–Indian women’s retreat held on the shores of the Indian Ocean in Varkala, Kerala.
Bringing together women from Russia and India, the retreat creates space for shared learning, cultural dialogue, and relational presence through expressive arts therapy, feminine lineage work, and nature- and culture-based practices.
The work unfolds through creativity and lived experience, grounded in the land and the larger embrace of Mother India.

Varkala is one of the few places in India where the land rises into cliffs directly above the ocean — a meeting of earth, water, and sky that many experience as naturally contemplative.
For centuries, this region has held spiritual, ritual, and healing significance. The cliff-sea landscape creates a rhythm that supports slowing down, inner listening, and embodied reflection — without needing effort or explanation.
