About the Event
Join us for the U.S. opening of the Motherland Art Exhibition, a landmark cultural event commemorating 200 years of Norwegian immigration to America. This exhibition bridges past and present, heritage and innovation, through the works of five contemporary Norwegian artists:
- Geir Harald Samuelsen – abstract works inspired by nature and elemental forces.
- Anne Ingeborg Biringvad – baroque-inspired collages and installations with folkloric undertones.
- Fredrik K.B. – timeless granite and marble sculptures infused with mythic resonance.
- Christer Karlstad – figurative paintings set in dreamlike, narrative landscapes.
- Hanne-May Scheen – layered abstract paintings exploring space, light, and perception.
Through painting, sculpture, and installation, these artists explore themes of origin, culture, and nature while reflecting on questions of identity, belonging, and exchange.
