Motherhood & Milk: May Meet Up

This month, we’re excited to try something a little different with a picnic at Heaton Park—weather permitting! If the sun is shining, we’ll enjoy some outdoor time together in the park. Whether you’re a breastfeeding mum or just looking to connect with other mums, this is a safe space to share experiences, discuss the joys and challenges of motherhood, and make new friends (or catch up with familiar faces).

Enjoy a warm brew and a biscuit in our cosy circle while we chat about all things motherhood. This is a mum-supporting-mums initiative. While we’re here to lend an ear and share experiences, we’re also happy to signpost additional breastfeeding support resources if needed.

• Friday, May 17th
• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

• Heaton Park Picnic (if weather permits):
  If the weather is good, we’ll have a lovely picnic at Heaton Park. We’ll meet by Gate 13, directly across from the Heaton Park Tram Station. Our final destination will be a grassy area near the lake for a relaxed picnic.
• SparkLife (if bad weather):
  If the weather isn’t ideal, we will meet at SparkLife as usual. We will notify you 24 hours before the event to confirm the location based on the weather forecast.

Due to limited space, please book the correct ticket to ensure a comfortable experience for all mums and babies. One free ticket covers one mum and one child/baby.

• If the meetup is at Heaton Park, there is no limit to the number of attendees.
• If we move to SparkLife due to bad weather, we will need to limit the number of tickets to ensure everyone has enough space. In this case, we encourage you to book early to secure your spot. We will notify all attendees 24 hours in advance if we need to make this change.

If you’d like to support the running costs (brews, biscuits, etc.), donations are greatly appreciated!

There are free parking lots available nearby to make your visit more convenient:

• Upper Wilton Street Car Park – Free parking available.
• Park Street Car Park – Free parking available.

Both are within easy walking distance of the venue.

• The venue is pushchair-friendly and has baby-changing facilities.
• This is a judgement-free zone where every mum’s journey is respected and celebrated.
• Safeguarding is a priority. If you have specific needs or questions about safety measures, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Motherhood & Milk is a community group of mums facilitating this meetup. We are not professional breastfeeding counsellors, but we do have measures in place to help connect you with the right support if needed.
