About this Event
We’re pleased to let you know that Moseley Community Development Trust (MCDT) has successfully secured funding to establish a Community Investment District (CID).
A Community Improvement District (CID) is a locally led approach to regenerating high streets and town centres. It brings together community organisations, residents, and other stakeholders to shape a shared vision for the future of a place and take practical action to deliver it. Rather than following a single fixed model, CIDs are flexible and community-driven, enabling local people to influence how their town centres are used, developed, and sustained for the benefit of the community.
Supported by the UK Government, the West Midlands Combined Authority, and Birmingham City Council, this initiative will help us take a community-led approach to strengthening and revitalising Moseley’s high street and town centre — with local businesses playing a key role from the very beginning.
We want the CID to be a genuine partnership between MCDT, Moseley Regeneration Group, residents, and — importantly — the businesses that make Moseley such a distinctive and vibrant place. The CID aims to show that Moseley is a destination village, full of charming places to explore. With the upcoming opening of Moseley Train Station, we hope the CID will help bring even more visitors to enjoy everything Moseley has to offer. We’re committed to celebrating and promoting all the fantastic independent shops, venues, and services across the area, including those that may not always get the visibility they deserve.
We’d love to invite business owners and managers to an upcoming meeting where we’ll share more about the CID, outline the opportunities it offers, and — crucially — hear your ideas about how this can benefit your business and the wider community.
Your insight and involvement are essential in shaping the future of Moseley, and we hope you’ll join us in this collaborative effort.
