Mosaic Meditation Workshop
Saturday 4th October, 10.30am – 1.30pm
The Old Granary, Ffrith Farm, Ffrith, near Mold, CH7 4EL
Come and give yourself three hours of creative calm in the heart of the Welsh hills. Surrounded by rolling countryside and the gentle presence of farm animals, this workshop is a chance to slow down, breathe, and create a personal piece of mosaic wall art.
This workshop is open to everyone – whether you see yourself as “not creative” or you’ve been making for years. No experience is needed.
What you’ll do:
Enjoy a calming mosaic meditation, exploring colour, texture, and pattern.
Create a beautiful wall hanging tile to take home or give as a deeply personal gift.
Be encouraged to bring along small personal items – a shell, a bead, a piece of broken pottery, or anything that holds meaning for you – and embed them into your piece. Don’t worry if you don’t have anything; all materials are provided.
Why mosaics?
Mosaic has a rich history stretching back thousands of years, from ancient Mesopotamia and Rome to Byzantine cathedrals and Islamic art. It has always been a way for people to tell stories, preserve memories, and create beauty from fragments. You’ll be part of this timeless tradition, transforming small, ordinary objects into something extraordinary.
About your facilitator:
I’m Jayne Hopwood, an interior designer, artist, and lifelong collector. My work has taken me to fascinating places, where I’ve gathered inspiration from ancient technologies, archaeological relics, and nature’s treasures. I beachcomb, collect shells, beads, broken ceramics, and driftwood – each holding memory of a day or place. I love to arrange these fragments into mosaics that carry identity, story, and adventure. Alongside small wall pieces, I’ve created larger mosaics for tables, furniture, and interiors.
Why join this workshop?
If you’ve ever wondered what to do with your collections, or if you’ve never tried anything like this before – this is for you. In a supportive, inspiring environment, you’ll discover how soothing and mindful mosaic-making can be. You’ll leave feeling peaceful, rested, and with the skills and confidence to create more mosaics at home – perhaps even as thoughtful handmade Christmas gifts.
You’ll take home:
A unique mosaic wall tile, rich with memory and meaning.
A calm, grounded sense of mindfulness.
Practical skills and inspiration to continue your mosaic journey.
