Join us aboard The Vintage Train as we venture east to the Morwell International Rose Garden Festival behind an R class steam locomotive.TICKETS AND MORE INFO - www.trybooking.com/DGLPD
Departing Newport, Southern Cross, Flinders Street, Caulfield, Dandenong or Pakenham Stations, the train will steam from the heart of Melbourne through to the rapidly expanding southeastern suburbs. Reminiscent of the glory days of 'The Gippslander' an express run will be had towards the Latrobe Valley. After flying beyond the overhead and leaving the suburbs behind, our train will enter the lush farming country of West Gippsland. Relax onboard as the locomotive works hard to tackle the steep grades of Longwarry Bank, through the valley and onto the mysterious Haunted Hills before arriving at Morwell at 11:18am.
Morwell International Rose Garden Festival
Showcasing the international award-winning Rose Garden in the heart of Morwell and celebrating the work of the Friends of the Rose Garden Volunteers, the Festival promises to be a blooming spectacle of colour and light for all ages. Explore the roses, take part in a range of free activities, treat your taste buds to a traditional Devonshire Tea at the CWA marquee or partake in retail therapy at the garden and market stalls. The festival’s favourite gardening guru, Costa Georgiadis will chat about all things gardening and sustainability.
Reboard the train for a 3:58pm departure from Morwell. The engine will work hard to climb towards Hearnes Oak before picking up speed and heading west towards the setting sun, finishing a memorable day out onboard The Vintage Train!
