About this Event
Internationally acclaimed concert organist, Alan Morrison, will play the dedicatory concert for the recently completed Hill Byrne Christiansen Memorial Pipe Organ at First Reformed Church, 40 East Orange Street in downtown Lancaster on Sunday, November 17 at 3:00 PM.
The organ, in loving memory of Rita Jane (Barton) Hill Byrne and The Reverend Ronald and Darlene Christiansen, is a rebuilt Sebastian Gundling organ that was repaired, restored, and enhanced under the craftsmanship of Larry Pruitt at Columbia Organ Works.
Mr. Morrison enjoys a versatile career and his concert performances throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Russia have all been received with enthusiastic praise for his quality programming, colorful use of the organ and interpretive integrity. He is a regular performer at Marian Anderson Hall in Philadelphia, where he performs as soloist, concerto soloist, with choral and brass groups, and with The Philadelphia Orchestra.
The concert in the historic 1854 First Reformed sanctuary is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will follow the recital.
