NYC's MORRICONE YOUTH (founded by Devon E. Levins of San Diego's Creedle) perform songs from each of their live re-score albums for Mad Max, Danger: Diabolik, Hitchcock's The Lodger, Murnau's Sunrise, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, Battleship Potemkin and Night of the Living Dead with visuals... and maybe something from their upcoming Eight Eyes soundtrack (the horror film they scored last year for Vinegar Syndrome just released last month via Shudder). The soundtrack vinyl is expected to be in hand by late-Oct.ROB CROW DJ's soundtracks and other Halloween spookiness in the DJ coffin.
MORRICONE YOUTH is a collective of New York City musicians founded by composer Devon Goldberg in 1999 reinterpreting 100+ film & television works all over the world, from CBGB’s, Tonic, Knitting Factory and the top of the World Trade Center to Brooklyn Academy of Music, MassMoCA, Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Sydney Festival, as well as supporting Italian prog soundtrack legends Goblin on their 2017 North American tour. The band has composed and performed 15 silent film and midnight movie live scores, including F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu (1922), Robert Clouse’s Enter The Dragon (1973), Jack Hill's Foxy Brown (1974), David Lynch's Eraserhead (1977) and Rene Laloux's La Planete Savauge (1973), and embarked on a 15-vinyl series for each film in 2016, the first seven of which have been released for George Miller's Mad Max (1979), George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968), F.W. Murnau's Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927), Lotte Reiniger's The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926), Mario Bava's Danger: Diabolik (1968), Alfred Hitchcock's The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1928) and Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin (1926). The band’s 5th pressing of the long out-of-print 2016 live re-score of Night of the Living Dead EP will be available at the show on blue/black swirl 150g vinyl.
