Moriston Enduro 2025 it's on!!!
16th August! 3 hours of pain, suffering and fun!
The chance to test your grit, tenacity, speed and endurance at the UKs most challenging white water kayak event!
Over 3 hours participants will attempt to push themselves in a selection of categories!
1 - How many self powered laps of the 400m section of grade 4 white water can they complete in 3 hours.
This includes carrying your boat back to the top
2 - Fastest 3 Consecutive Lap with the timer starting at the beginning of the first lap and ending at the finish line of the 3rd lap
3 - The mighty Buckfastest lap! The timer starts at the start line and finishes at the finish line. Just like the monks of Buckfast Abbey used to do.
Entrants of the event can choose to focus on 1 or all 3 of the categories.
Meaning that should you want to come and focus on just a fast lap you can come and do 1 lap if you want!
Check in for the event will be open from 9am at the usual layby just up from the takeout. - https://maps.app.goo.gl/EtL4RD9WskAXXT6o6
The put on is here should you wish to drop your boat before parking up.

please do not block access to the Dam at the put in when you drop your boat off.
Alternative parking for vehicles is available at the following locations -

Also consider leaving your car in the village of invermoriston and consolidating into fewer vehicles.
A mandatory warm up lap will be run at around 10.15-10.30 to allow racers to get a feel for the course and ease into the event. This lap can be done with friends in a relaxed fashion taking care of each other on the river.
Competitors will then come back to the top ready for the start of the race.
Individuals will be set off at around 15 - 20 Second intervals in order to stagger racers. You will then have 3 hours from your start time. We recommend checking your time when starting in order to gauge when you commit to your last lap.
Strategicly placed safety teams will be placed around particularly hazardous areas of the river to assist paddlers if needed. However we ask that all competitors are prepared to assist other paddlers in need regardless of their own results. Anyone seen to be paddling recklessly or ignoring a paddler requiring assistance will be disqualified.
Should you take a swim and require assistance but get back in your boat and continue, the lap will still count.
Competitors can use only boats up to 9ft, with a minimum 2 airbags fit for use, step out pillars and in safe condition for use on the river. Appropriate river wear is also mandatory to compete in the event- CE rated helmet at suitable river buoyancy aid min 50kn. Attire and kit will be checked before entering the river.
This is a very physical event and will require participants to manage themselves safely through appropriate safety, equipment nutrition, hydration and self awareness.
Scotland can be anything from 5 to 30 degrees in august so make sure to check weather forecasts leaded up to the event to decide if you need shorts and suncream or a wooly hat and pogies.
The race will end around 2 - 3 o'clock where timings and results will be calculated as fast as possible for prize giving at around 3- 4 o'clock!
As this event is run and only made possibly by volunteers if you finish early or have friends and family who can support this event in any way please do help or send them our way!
Event Booking Will be Available very soon!
Please ensure you are checked in with your kit and bib before 10am ready for the race briefing!
Parking is extremely limited so we must ask folk to car share where possible.
For your coffee & breakfast needs the Glen Rowan Cafe is Banging!
