More Than a Canvas is an Exhibition and Gala by the National Society for Black Students in Art. Art is a form of expression; We use art as a way to distract ourselves from the world around us, to discuss our feelings, to relate to others, hide, relieve tension, and so much more. The More Than a Canvas Exhibition and Gala is a way for Black Students at LSU, to showcase their work and allow others to see that there is in fact more than the canvas, and see these artist and their stories. Art is bigger than what it appears to be on the surface, and we want to give you all an opportunity to search for more.
