A new global dance night exploring the past, present and future of dance music across a broadening spectrum of genres — from disco to dembow, afrobeats to amapiano — an expanding palette of sounds, beats, and languages.

RIOBAMBA (APOCALIPSIS, NYC) is a first-generation Ecuadorian-Lithuanian sound artist/DJ. Her rowdy, deeply-researched live sets reflect back nightlife’s power as a site of joy and resistance. She has shared the stage with Ivy Queen, Tego Calderón, Nina Sky, Toro y Moi, and Princess Nokia.
DEEJAY THEORY (ORIGINAL TING MUSIC, MA), a New England native by way of San Francisco, has been swimming in international musical waters for most of his adult life. While out West, he co-founded and hosted TORMENTA TROPICAL, a decade-long dance party in SF’s Mission district. His in-demand DJ sets diffuse a multiplicity of genres with careful craftsmanship, exquisitely blended with near-zero turbulence and maximal groove.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Secret Planet tokens accepted (2-for-1 for our SP members if they arrive before 9PM!). There is a full bar and the cafe will be open serving delicious snacks throughout the night.
