**VENUE CHANGED, MOVED FROM BROOKLYN MADE**More Fatter is an indie rock band with members currently based in LA, Brooklyn, and Paris, France. Childhood friends and brothers Tommy Economou, Márk and Théo Fedronic founded the band alongside friend and former high school classmate, Gustaf Claesson in the San Francisco Bay Area, in 2015. The group gradually built up a devoted following in California and the west coast of the US through its fiery live shows, with “spacious, brassy dance grooves, lusciously tight harmonies” (The Bay Bridged), and an eclectic, candid, humorous songwriting style.
The band released their debut record in 2017, with a second album following in 2019, shortly after having moved into a house together in east LA. The next two years proved to be transformative, as More Fatter developed its style both musically and visually with a heightened output and some highly original music videos. Tommy, Gustaf, Théo, and drummer/trumpeter/vocalist Anthony Puducay created the group’s third album over the span of their second year in LA, while Márk took a hiatus from the band to complete a master’s in music education in Hungary. The album was primarily written, recorded, and produced by the band in the LA “Fathaus”. It encapsulated a tumultuous time for More Fatter and the world at large, and showcases the band’s growth in both songwriting and production over the years. The band carried out an adventurous and successful two-and-a-half month “backyard” tour across the continental US, in the midst of a COVID summer in 2021.
All five members of More Fatter reunited for an electric US tour in 2023, which sparked a deep desire to create another record. The band came together for eight magical and intense, consecutive days at Altamira Studios in Los Angeles in August, 2024. With the help of engineer, Rob Shelton, and producer Cristobal Cruz-Garcia, the band brought ten new songs to life. Though some songs dated back to the “Fathaus” era and others were written mere weeks before recording by individual members, the band had never played any of the songs all together before the sessions. An atmosphere of discovery, love, and gratitude prevailed, and More Fatter’s fourth album, Good Morning El Sereno, was born. The name is a tribute to the neighborhood in east LA where More Fatter lived together for two years. El Sereno - or “the serene place” in Spanish - has been a source of continued inspiration and companionship for the band, ranging from their days living there, to more recent visits and music video projects. The word “serenity” also rings particularly true for this album, as all five members have overcome the ups and downs of almost ten years to create their most mature, living and breathing work yet.
