MORE ART/less cancer is a an art gallery that explores the art of living; the bittersweet dichotomy of holding two truths at the same time: joy and pain. The collection features original artwork by Chuy Herrera, a talented Mexican architect turned painter. Chuy is the father of Susi and has been sketching since he was 9 years old. His artwork celebrates queer culture and challenges social norms with emotional depth. Chuy's paintings are not just art, they are powerful expressions of love and struggle, the hard and soft of life.Chuy's most recent series, created in collaboration with Susi, captures the beauty and pain of being a minority, celebrating our resilience and spirit.Each piece is available for purchase, pricing will be available at the gallery. All proceeds go to Susi Herrera, to help her during this difficult journey.
Join us for an opening event on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024 from 5 pm to 9 pm featuring a gallery talk, live music, drinks and snacks.
The gallery will be open from 12 pm to 9 pm on Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10 with events happening each day.
