We all know what players and composers do, but the arranger’s art is more mysterious. Tonight we will show you just how much an artful arrangement can transform familiar songs in exciting ways. Mancini’s Pink Panther as a sizzling mambo? Think “La Pantera Rosa!”. Tea for Two as a 7/4 mambo, and Gershwin’s A Foggy Day as a delicate, atmospheric (heh) jazz waltz. You must hear it for yourself, and Berkeley’s own 17-piece Morchestra will be in the house for one show to demonstrate for you the depth and breadth of the arranger’s art. We look forward to seeing you there! The band:
Trumpets: Brad Catania, John Trombetta, Mike Beveridge, Mike Galisatus
Saxophones: Larry De La Cruz, Richard Mathias, Dave Tidball, Guido Fazio, Charlie Keagle
Trombones: Derek James, Carlo Rabano, Karl Dray, Richard Lee
Piano: Laura Klein
Bass: Karl Hartmann
Drums: Dave Rokeach
Leader, Guitar, and Lone Arranger: Tony Corman
