The city of Mora invites the public to watch skydivers, witness short takeoff and landing demonstrations, and see unique aircraft up close including a WWII-era helicopter at the Mora Municipal Airport (JMR) at the annual fly-in event Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
This is an event for the entire family, with free admission and giveaways for kids. The Fly-In has been a Mora tradition, celebrating the thrill of flight and fostering a sense of camaraderie among attendees. This year’s event also features a pancake breakfast served with REAL Minnesota maple syrup.
Scheduled activities:
• The event will open with the Presentation of Colors by the American Legion Club of Mora at 8 a.m.
• A team of skydivers will demonstrate their skills at approximately 10 a.m. (weather permitting) with STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) demonstrations to follow
• A Kids’ paper airplane contest is scheduled at 10 a.m. The contest is open to all ages; however, prizes will be awarded to the youth (age 17 or under) with the winning paper airplane flight.
Other attractions and details:
• Unique aircraft including WW2 helicopter, a North American Aviation T-6 Texan, Beechcraft T-34 Mentor and more
• The Mora Lions Club will be serving an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast for $10 per person with Pilots in Command eating for free. All proceeds will go to the Mora Lions Club to support community based projects and donations. Served with real Minnesota maple syrup.
• Hawk Aviation will be offering airplane rides for $45 per person.
• This year’s event will again include a static tractor and classic car display. All tractor and classic car owners are encouraged to bring their equipment to the event.
• All pilots will receive a 10¢ discount on aviation fuel on the day of the event.
• This event is scheduled rain or shine.
• Children will get the chance to experiment and play with a miniature wind tunnel.
