Samhain is a harvest festival celebrated—under various names—across the Celtic world on the evening of October 31st and into November 1st with ceremonial fires and other rituals. An important—if not the most important—holiday on the Celtic calendar, Samhain marks the midway point between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice, making it one of four Celtic cross-quarter days (the other three being Imbolc, Beltane, and Lughnasa). The festival of Samhain, is also a Celtic New Year celebration, marking the final harvest and the end of the old year. Samhain is a very spiritual time for it is when those beyond the veil become visible to mankind and can be easily communicated with.
This night we will celebrate with a "Silent Supper" potluck and a beautiful, moving , ritual. Please bring a dish to share. Dress in colors of the season and bring mementos of your beloved dead for the altar. Bring a can of food for @Lifenetforfamilies to represent bringing in the harvest. Love offerings accepted, we provide coffee and tea.
Blessed be - See you soon!
We also collect small used blankets, towels and new dog toys for the strays at Broward County Animal care.
